Sutekh Witches: A disturbing trip along Tonal peripheral
Like a smoldering fire eats its "Behind The Throne", the new album from Sutekh WITCHES, through the psyche of the listener. Thick, black smoke obscured the boundaries between noise, dark ambient and black metal. Resulting from massive guitar drones, noisy synth textures and screaming furchteinflößendem in the periphery of exquisitely layered tonality, always changing during extreme sound structures. Like the previous releases, the California trio, an epic and almost disturbing journey towards darkness and emptiness.
WITCHES Sutekh's "Behind The Throne" was published in June 2012 by Magic Bullet as MBL147 on vinyl and CD. A limited edition of 50 pieces on tape version is Wohrt (W014) appeared, and already sold out.

Henrik José - Swedish electronics engineer
It is time again for some more electronic sounds, I think. Thanks to the tips of a blog reader, I was made aware of the Swedish electro-pop musician Henrik José, whose gently flowing then pop sounds not only unmistakably Scandinavian, but also provides the perfect soundtrack for a rainy Sunday afternoon. "Magnet in my mouth" and especially "Pinpointing the problem" I find it very successful.

On the border of rock and dance with The Wallflowers and Mick Jones
The world seemed to have forgotten them. Nothing more, nothing less than seven have been the years that have passed since The Wallflowers released new album ("Rebel Sweetheart"). Fortunately Jakob Dylan has managed to recover the set in order to recover the energies of face-to carve out a new stage of Angelenos. "Glad All Over", which will be released on October 2 via Columbia Records, will be the new record that The Wallflowers confirm their return to the ring.
The album was recorded in the studio that owns Sound Easy Eye Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys in Nashville. Was produced by the pairing of Jay Joyce (a large sector that has worked with artists like Cage The Elephant or Emmylou Harris) and Rich Costey (Weezer, Foo Fighters), and has had several partners in the process of recording. From Greg Richling and Remi Jaffee (The Wallflowers classic) to Jack Irons, former drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers / Pearl Jam has recently been recruited by Dylan.
The first single from the LP, entitled 'The Mission Reboot' (listen to it via Rolling Stone), has been created jointly by The Wallflowers and Mick Jones, iconic guitarist / singer who formerly shone in The Clash. According to Dylan the purpose of this song was to become "a rock band that could also make a dance song, without crossing the line too." What do you think about it? ¿Auguráis a good future for this new phase of The Wallflowers?

Maxïmo Park - The National Health (2012)
Years pass, and with them are lost along the way musical trends. One of the more recently has been forgotten was that related to post punkero revival, in which bands like Maximo Park ended up scoring a small banner on the powerful British scene. After three years of little activity band of Paul Smith returns to quicken the pace with "The National Health", a compact in which Newcastle combine both issues with the DNA of old as a new faction of pure pop works. While unable to boot with classic themes look like 'Take Me Home' or 'Until The Earth Would Open' you do have to admit that at times engage Maximos that pounded the keyboard.
Pieces such as 'Wolf Among Men' or 'Write This Down' are examples of that, despite its excessive linearity, Maximo Park have greatly improved on "Quicken The Heart". Surprise surprise not as in "A Certain Trigger" but in "The National Health" neutralize properly manage the ups and downs were taunted in his final two LPS. That, and get fun, it's more than I could ask for. Who needs to lick their wounds now?

The Dallas Guild - Hello Darkness - My summer soundtrack for a modest
"It feels good, but is it good enough? Take to the men in white coats ... "
This will probably be my personal soundtrack for this summer so far modest. The London band will present on their debut album a very '70s-heavy mix of pop, rock and psychedelic (old fashioned) of electronic music. This all reminded once again of bands like the Beatles, 10CC, Porcupine Tree (yes, I know, are not all from the 70s) and pop in the early Brian Eno (not at the later ambient Eno). And it's damn good to listen to (and does not stick). Produced by the way the whole Paul Stacey, who has the Black Crowes and Oasis could miss a credible patina.
"Hello Darkness" is a very hot tip for anyone who can still remember the days when "pop" is not a dirty word was that it brought with yodeling, half-naked models in combination. Or for those who also want time to be entertained by well-made music simply.
The album is available only for a limited time as a free download. Listen and Download if you like. Definitely a band I'll keep an eye on.

Juanes believes that decriminalizing marijuana will be a breakthrough

Colombian singer Juanes said today that the Uruguayan government's recent proposal to legalize marijuana represents a major initiative to other countries in Latin America consider decriminalization as a way to fight drug trafficking in the region, according to information from the Associated Press.
"I do not think that decriminalization is the answer, but it would be a breakthrough. Uruguay is the first to think that legalizing marijuana is, above all, a public health issue, "said Colombian musician during a press conference in Mexico City.
Uruguayan Defense Minister recently introduced a bill to legalize marijuana sales as a measure to combat crime. If approved, Uruguay would be the first Latin American country to regulate the use of the drug.
Under the proposal, the government would have a monopoly on the distribution and sale of marijuana, which would be sold only to adults registered as consumers in a database.
"America will not talk much about it, but at the last Summit of the Americas was one of the topics on the agenda. It is a very complex issue, but eventually reach a transition, because the war (on drugs) just left blood and has made the strengthening of gangs and weapons business, "the singer on decriminalization.

Radiohead recorded at Third Man, Jack White Study
In full concert of Radiohead at Bonnaroo, as we noted at the time, Thom Yorke dedicated "Super Collider" Jack White for "end up knowing something soon." We have only needed a few days to unravel the mystery, and everything has been thanks to a former member of The White Stripes that said something interesting: Radiohead were recently recorded in Nashville Thirdman study. This restaurant belongs to Third Man Records, the independent label that White founded in 2001 and has released singles and albums for artists / bands like Seasick Steve, Tom Jones, Ted Leo and our beloved First Aid Kit
"I can not say much except that I have neither played nor have produced nothing but Radiohead came to record at Third Man That's all I can confirm!" - Jack White clarified in an interview on BBC Radio 6. And so, automatically, all the rumors faded signaling a possible collaboration between Thom Yorke and the father of "blunderbuss".
Although it has bitten a lot of curiosity. What could be recorded Thom within this study? And above all, when can we enjoy this new material? The answers to these questions are answered hopefully not for long. "The King Of Limbs" has aged at rates bounds in our hands.

Alabama Shakes - Boys & Girls (2012)
Jack White seems to show no sympathy for this mass phenomenon called The Black Keys. However, the former The White Stripes have not had any problems when declaring his love for Alabama Shakes, an American band that is on everyone's lips thanks to the addictive frenzy of sound that is embodied in "Boys & Girls", its gimmicky album debut.
With a race unfit for a group like this nobel, Alabama Shakes have combined correctly soul and swamp rock emerged in the southern United States. The key to safe hits as 'Hold On', 'You Is not Alone' (beautiful theme) and 'Be Mine' lies in the purity and spirit of the quartet emerged from Athens to found his musical flag in the voice of a singer - Brittany Howard - that shines with personality. At times sin to be somewhat linear sound but its formula, which is why, I think that this "Boys & Girls" is just the tip of the iceberg of the greatness of what lies ahead.
Time will tell if I'm wrong about that, but at least the data - and Jack White - AS reaffirm that have that X factor that people loves. As they say themselves: "We are on the way to the promised land." Of course.

Bethany Cosentino and Iggy Pop, scrambled together in the OST of "True Blood"
The musical world we often thousand and one surprises in store. Some are somewhat predictable and others, like the one we present today, we the had we ever imagined. Alucinad with this: the iconic Iggy Pop just work with the singer Bethany Cosentino (Best Coast) in the performance of 'Let's Boot and Rally', devised an entirely new theme for the soundtrack of the television series "True Blood".
As we read through Exclaim.ca this song can be heard both in the radio premiere July 5 (station KCRW) and the episode of Anna Paquin to be televised on the 8th of that month. This unique and morbid, collaboration serves as a perfect sequel of that done a year ago from Neko Case and Nick Cave. Apparently both the iguana and Bethany were delighted to work side by side. While the former said "I've always liked to bite. I suppose that makes me a vampire bite, does that mean I have license to suck? Hello Bethany "Best Coast singer responded with a" passing Iggy "and confirmed that it was an" honor to sing with a legend "and Iggy Pop
The sobs of Sookie, Bill looks lost and right in the center, the voices of Bethany Cosentino and Iggy Pop How could we not want to know who is out of this?
