Grumbling FUR is a darkly term ambien psych-folk project of Daniel O'Sullivan (MOTHLITE, Æthenor, GUAPO, ULVER etc.) and Alexander Tucker (including IMBOGODOM, Ginnungagap with Stephen O'Malley).
The recording of their debut "Furrier" emerged in the course of a day improv session, also attended by Jussi Lehtisalo (CIRCLE) and Dave Smith (THE STARGAZER'S ASSISTANT, GUAPO) participated. Together with Antti Uusimaki (THE STARGAZER'S ASSISTANT, MOTHLITE, PANIC DHH) has O'Sullivan then months later, the material is viewed and edited. The album is a whirlwind of ideas, combining krautrock mantras, repetitive rhythms and Psychperment nebulous cloud-to undulating, hypnotic sound of braids. Pretty impressive.
With "Alice" will now appear as part of the Latitudes series of renowned indie Flagships Southern, a second publication of the British duo.
"Furrier" in July 2011 as the Aurora Borealis on AB031 on CD and 180g vinyl chic appeared (clear or green). The Latitudes session "Alice" appears on 28 May in a limited edition (500 copies on green vinyl-180gr, 500 CDs) and range of typical, exquisite packaging at Southern.
