Bon Iver still insists on his particular race to color a universe all its own. The architect who builds monuments dreamlike beauty. The magnificent craftsman who uses the concept of pilgrimage in his artistic idea. The draftsman instead of using bevel square and uplifting guitar lines, steamy atmospheres, sound stages filled with crude colors, earth tones and orchestral tints.
All this prose and persecution plastic construction can be seen in the new video that Bon Iver has been submitted for 'Towers', one of the most achieved and outstanding and its almost classical album 'Bon Iver' (Jagjaguwar, 2011). Here we see a beautiful and meticulous cinematography, bathed in bright autumn light heavy weight. Large flat where we are imposing landscapes that cut the air. A character out of an imaginary novel "boniverista" with the self-characterization based lumberjack shirt, "cabañismo" anarchic beard and hair populated capsized. All scenes and scenarios serve to accompany this character on his way to a dream. Pilgrimage to the artistic ideal, again. The fortified place and have to build their own, despite the distances that have to travel and means of transport have to use. A trip blowing beauty and poetic, with a dose of tragedy and desplomante final.
In short, a brilliant tour. So and so lucid. To somewhere a bit inaccurate but also very clear. Why in the way of the dream of Wisconin architect does not matter where you want to go, but be clear in what ways is to move and insist, wander through plasticity, beauty and very good manners.

Bruce Springsteen talks about "Wrecking Ball" in Paris
Bruce Springsteen in Paris on Thursday presented his new album, Wrecking Ball, which goes on sale on March 6, in an interview with French journalist Antoine de Caunes (who, it seems, is a big fan of New Jersey) .
In addition to talking a bit about the eleven songs that comprise his seventeenth studio work, Springsteen took a moment to remember the sadly late Clarence "Big Man" Clemmons, stating that for him his loss was devastating: "Losing is like losing Clarence the rain, "he said to remember. Obama also discussed, indicating that still is on their side, although no longer actively participate in the upcoming presidential campaign.
Although theoretically Springsteen's label has banned any criticism of the disc until next Feb. 27, some media have released some touches on this new job. Andy Gill, The Independent, for example, calls him "a passionate mix of powerful sound of Springsteen with muscular rock-folk, gospel music and Irish rebel."

Kate Bush - 50 Words For Snow In fact, I find myself still for a few weeks in my somewhat involuntary hiatus, because I see but the number of visitors of the blog, that many readers for the new album by Kate Bush are interested, here is quick to point out that now the entire new album "50 Words for Snow", which was on Friday 18.11., it was for free on the sides of the US-American public radio NPR. And trying to tell without too much: I think the album really worth listening to.

Grails: The Colors Of The Dark
Just to emphasize again here: The GRAILS part of the delicate ones, that which is currently moving through the sound world out there! "Deep Politics" the Portland quintet 2011 has once again hit a hook and make various stylistic expectations come to nothing. Instead of a poor imitation of the great "Doomsdayer's Holiday" to lie, they are responsible for the production of their new album once again back and traveled through time and space to deal with an enormous amount of finesse and detail a variety of influences - The palette ranges from Middle Eastern music and 60s-psych up 70s TV series melodies and western soundtracks - in their psychedelic sound mix weave. With grandiose string arrangements by Timb Harris (MASTER MUSICIANS OF BUKKAKE, SECRET CHIEFS 3, Estradasphere, etc.)! Unusual and intense!

Opera, seductive
In Munich's smallest opera house, the Pasinger factory, runs until 26 February, the second series of the acclaimed Don Giovanni directed by Julia Dippel, in June, 2011 premiere.
Don Giovanni is a seducer, who, without the daily challenge of conquering a woman who can no longer define themselves. He also leaves his wife, Donna Elvira in the wedding night are easy, because the goal is reached. Why did he ever married is a mystery. He tries to Donna Anna, his servant Leporello must be dope. Donna Anna does not quite know their cries wake the father, who then is killed by Don Giovanni. He leaves behind a broken Donna Anna, Don Ottavio, whose fiance revenge for the death of his father-in-law swears. His next target is none other than Donna Elvira, whom he does not recognize. Quite forgetful type. No wonder that Leporello tries to Elvira with a reference to the numerous love affairs (Italy 640, Germany 230, France 100, Persia, 90, Spain 1003, the man comes around) to comfort the DG. The third victim will eventually be Zerlina, which is on the verge of marriage to Masetto. Leporello again must serve to distract the jealous husband fast. In the end, however, a DG takes his selfish behavior, because all, including the dead father's plot against him.
Lively it is because the "opera of operas", which is certainly the excellent German text modernized version of the director to owe - and the fact that text is sung very understandable. Martin Steinlein conducted the orchestra at the conductor's podium in chamber music ensembles excellent singer and very friendly. Almost in passing, he also accompanied the recitatives and plays with a little bit. This is one of the major advantages of the production, she plays with the venue and all persons present. Since the beginning of Donna Elvira wanders about and shows a photo of DGs, as are the aisles for the additional stage, there must ever seen a woman in the audience to the front and anschmachten of DG can.
The stage is simple, a staircase that leads to a platform on which a bed is available. Side before the orchestra is placed. This provides for optimum acoustics, at least at my place. The audience consists of many bistro tables to be seated in groups of four. Here is eaten and drunk during the opera, just as in the early days of musical theater. There is surprisingly quiet and you can enjoy the night without being disturbed. The costumes are classic and timeless, just like the story.
An important point for the success of an opera singer, the evening and they were that night good to very good. It had the men in the lead, especially Sebastian Campione as Don Giovanni. His strong, but pleasantly soft voice was perfect for the seductive role and safely melted so many women's hearts in the audience. His duet with Diana Marina Fischer who led the women's squad as Zerlina, singing La ci darem la mano, here in Italian / English / German, was one of the highlights of the evening. Also a very good performance offered Phillip Gaiser as Leporello, Wilko Döring as Commendatore / Masetto and Adrian Sandu as Don Ottavio. Julia Chalfin impressed as Donna Elvira and Ikumu Mizushima added splendidly in this high-class ensemble.
This production is especially for opera newcomers useful since this is connected with the advantages of the great opera smallest opera house: it is generally somewhat informal, it is closer, it is less rigid than, for example at the National Theatre. Tickets reduced from 21 €, ticket of Munich.

So dear reader,...
As some of you have noticed certain was going on "between the years" less honest. The problem at the time is just simply stad'n but that they get the most stressful time in the whole year is ... Christmas, department food, gifts ... everything as simple as net yet to find time to blog.

Some may perhaps have seen excerpts einpaar already on TV. If not ... here again a record of the entire "show":
We were standing at the foot of Big Ben and it was really impressive. I was very pleasantly surprised from the fact that there seems to buy in England no fireworks in the trade. Have at least in the markets in London and seen nowhere that even when we were on the Thames had to be careful not that any one wag so tossing a thing between the legs. So, no "war conditions" that prevail at New Year's Eve in some German city.
The supporting program is to say, though ... that was a little ore averages. The viewing area true well-sonicated and the music quite well the masses, which of course is not a seal, but what do you expect with such a big event already ... BUT, the DJ, something like a jack of the BBC was just time really bottom drawer . The times were really garnix. My tip for next year: Does ne Winamp playlist, here with nice fade in and fade-out makes you a few thoughts about it that you sing maybe bring style into ne good order can and PLEASE buy the guy on this year the controllers sit, DJ Hero, or otherwise any part of which he is abgelengt.
Well well ... einwas have to keep him then too good. He chose a beautiful song as the opening song for 2010: Live Forever by Oasis

Cultured nonsense in the artists' house
Operetta is "willful idiocy of an educational effect" to Karl Kraus once said, mutatis mutandis. The crowd at the House of Artists at the premiere of two one-act operetta "The beautiful Galathée" and "Chief Evening Wind" of the Munich Chamber Opera had seen at least its fun and the little biting swipes quite correct.
At first glance, the operettas have little in common, although both are created in about the same time. "The beautiful Galathée" comes from the Austrian composer Franz von Suppe, and premiered in 1865 in Berlin. In it, a statue comes to life after its creator has fallen in love with her. However, it is a little nymphomaniac and nibbled assessed not only the sculpture, but also his servant and his patron. Disappointed, he wants her back transformation that it will also be granted promptly, and sold the ungrateful bitch to his patron. "Chief Evening Wind", composed by the French operetta specialists Jacques Offenbach was first performed in 1857 in his theater Bouffes. The chief of the Grand-Lulu is facing the serious problem of what he set before his guest of state chief Hasenzahn of the tribe of the father-Tutu, because, unfortunately, the pantry is empty, because he is lost for a long time no stranger to the island and people meat rare, unfortunately, is. Because it comes in handy but that a stranger is washed up by a storm. The chief's daughter falls in love with him and her father is already planning the menu. In the end, of course, everything goes well and a couple of beautiful songs to come here before, too.
Director Dominik Wilgenbus moved the first piece of the creative period in an artist's studio in Paris, the second play at the same time on the other hemisphere. He connected the two pieces in many different ways, so that their inner connection came out well. He has woven many little gags and carefully modernized. I particularly enjoyed the couplet about the Greeks in the first part. The costumes (Uschi Haug) were visionary, the sets (Peter Engel) for both parts of the same, a little elevated, sloping surface, which allowed good visibility. Can be connected to both of them saw clearly that even with few resources to stimulate the imagination of the viewer.
Vladimir Genin had the first piece as an arranger assumed the chief drew Alexander Krampe responsible. Both reactions have pleased me well. The Orchestra of the Munich Chamber Opera was re-amplified with the accordion, it's amazing that one hardly hears it, but it is still responsible for the rich sound.
Musically, it was really the very best. The management of the orchestra of the Munich Chamber Opera was in the capable hands of Nabil Shehata and he brought both the waltz and sparkling couplets equally good effect. When the singers should be mentioned especially Pratscher Elizabeth, both their Galathée as well as the chief's daughter Atala were a musical and visual treat, Generic. But their male colleagues Mathias Frey, Georg and Maximilian Nowka leader shone in their various roles as well as the puppeteer Moritz Trauzettel.
An exhilarating evening with a slightly critical tone - this is the old lady operetta prepared for the future!

For these are the favorite hunting trophy husband. So he follows them into overpriced bars, accompanied by endless department stores and even throws like his principles overboard. For a woman, a man does anything until it is your own. Then he has them, but then come questions: Why do they want to walk all the time? Why she does in the afternoon from the front door? Whether Matthias concoction with his gag fireworks the answers to these questions, they can live out in January in Munich.
"Women think differently - men are not" in the high critical praise, just like Matthias concoction itself The Hello writes Sylt: "The name Matthias concoction so far hardly anyone had heard, but who has experienced the comedian, it is not so quickly forgotten, "and describes him as' comedy 'tip' The Frankish days says:". concoction proved to be an intelligent, deep, sharp-tongued wordsmith, so brilliant entertainer "
That he has now landed on the stage may perhaps not have been finished article original intention. Actually, he has namely political science at the TU Dresden and studied during this period also involved in politics. After this period of life, he began his career as an author. Concoction wrote lyrics for children's television (KIKA), for various cabaret artists, ensembles and also produced a comedy series for radio. In 2002 he even founded the Dresden Comedy Club.
His repertoire is shaped by the findings of some catastrophic interaction between men and women, but also ansich of the quirks of humanity. The title already told several of its programs, such as "people, quirks, mutations," or "wood road to happiness." His latest program, "Women think differently - men do not!" Is no exception.

Why we're watching: Gotye, musician
The 31-year-old, whose single has gone triple platinum in Australia, now has his sights set on the UK
Gotye? How do you pronounce that? Got ya? No, it's "Gaultier", like the designer. He made it up. His real name is: Wouter de Backer. His parents are Belgian and they moved to Melbourne when he was two.
And, don't tell me, he's a YouTube sensation? Exactly – and he's had more than 50m hits already. He's taking over the world with the sad and catchy "Somebody That I Used to Know" – it's gone triple platinum in Australia.
Imagine if YouTube hits were album sales. Back in the olden days, he'd have been… Actually, he's not doing too shabbily. The single has sold 1.5m around the world and gone to number one in five countries. Now Gotye has his sights set on the UK. If all goes to plan, he'll have a number one UK hit today.
What does his music sound like? His vocal has been compared to Sting – he's got that raspy thing going on – but overall it's gentle electropop: lots of bleeps and twangs and careful xylophones.
He says: "It took me six months to write that song, and I really didn't think it would be a hit, but it has obviously resonated with people."
We say: "Somebody That I Used to Know" is 2012's "Someone Like You" by Adele. By November it'll start grating, but for now it's lovely.

The Bony King of Nowhere live in Crane Hall
The Bony King of Nowhere performs on its tour of Germany in the hall crane in MünchenThe Bony King of Nowhere - a name that requires quite a statement. Dürr spindle (English: bony), which is the 24-year-old Belgian singer-songwriter Bram Vanparys, which is behind this project, in any case. If he moves with his guitar case in hand, through Europe, he does not truly like a king, therefore, also seems to 'King Of Nowhere' well be appropriate. However, he is king of the stage, which he enters, which no doubt on 06.02.2012 will be no different in the crane hall in Munich.
Bram's catchy and idiosyncratic music is influenced by his distinctive voice, his unconventional sounds and striking lyrics. The first The Bony King of Nowhere album "Alas My Love" 2009, both the audience and the press was equally well received. He praises Spiegel.de the 'bone' king 'for example as follows:. "Bram Vanparys Schwermutslieder balance quite fearlessly on the very precarious interface between mere whining and genuine feeling," not least it the American psychedelic-folk singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart appreciates very much. His second album using live "Eleanor" was released in February 2011.
Despite the positive reviews for the debut has Vanpary for "Eleanor" for a decidedly different approach: "The band and I have moved into my attic and Quarantänein worked hard on the new songs. After the songs were mastered for the first time, it was easier to give them more space in the studio. They 'breathe' leave. Except for some overdubbing vocals and instruments of that time were recorded live. Each song is literally a mini-history drama - if one listens to them in exactly the same time, we needed five in the studio to record it. In addition, we have deliberately this time built on simple arrangements. In 'Alas My Love "I've worked with all kinds of layers, the' Eleanor 'all sounds much more direct, unsparing. A wrong note is not the end of the world as long as the songs sound alive. "
The result are songs that breathe the spirit of the greats of the 70s, reminiscent of Nick Drake and Tim Buckley or Bob Dylan and The Band.
As the opening band now lives in Munich, American songwriter Jason Serious is with the party. 2011, he was able to convince at the German concerts by Nathaniel Rateliff and Paul Heaton in the interlude.
Come and visit The Bony King Of Nowhere on 06.02.2012 in the crane hall (public works) in Munich. The team from Munich Blog wishes much fun.
