Our songs November 2012

The past 2011 was a great year musical. Luckily this 2012 has fallen short of its predecessor thanks to brutal previous albums such as Tame Impala, Crystal Castles, METZ or Two Gallants. To close the year in the best possible way here we leave you with the Spotify list that includes some of the songs that we have enjoyed in the past November.

This last selection has been most eclectic. With pieces varied styles well, the November playlist for you will enjoy both euphoric moments ('The Mother We Share', 'Upstairs') to those in which we throw blanket and a cup of good coffee (' Even If We Try ',' Last Night I Heard Everything In Slow Motion ').

The eternal smile of A Fine Frenzy in 'Now Is The Start'

A couple of months ago it went on sale in the international market "Pines", the third album from A Fine Frenzy, beautiful artistic alterego Alison Sudol. Probably you have not heard about it but the truth is that their songs have appeared in House, How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill and some other popular shows on American television programming. Your pop, despite tend toward the mainstream, has a good point and fruity simpleton that makes it different, unique in its kind. As a Madi Diaz still today fills our days with its imposing 'Every Time I Reach Out'.

The latest single from A Fine Frenzy-to-market is 'Now Is The Start', a candid and obviously sweetened piece praised by Fast paced and addictive Alison radiant with his mischievous vocal. Remarkable is also the ubiquitous punch synthesized just wrap this single that serves as a perfect counterpoint to the melancholy end of AFF we enjoy with pieces like the classic 'Ashes And Wine'.

Without further ado here we leave you with this great single. Drop what you're doing and carefully jump to the sky, touching smile!.

The Punk Syndrome (2012)

Pertti (guitar), Kari (voice), Sami (bass) and Tony (drums) are the members of a group of punkrock from Finland, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät. Rehearse, compose, recorded in a studio, act and go on tour. Nothing unusual if not for the four mental disabilities in greater and lesser degrees. The documentary, directed by Jukka Kärkkäinen and JP Passi, accompanies the four sessions during its strictly musical but also provides a social portrait of how their disabilities affect their daily environment, the Finnish welfare system and collects his notes about politics , love, family, and future obligations.
Directors with respect and affection shown images ranging from tenderness (a birthday party, a marriage proposal, a celebration of a newborn) to admiration (innate passion they show in their live performances), but also the discomfort (episodes of incontinence, tics or fights between band members). A filter that tries to normalize a music career like any other but it avoids the moments that manifest their pathologies and limitations of this bluntly.
One of the funniest episodes is the visit to the pedicure, moments after a fight between Sami Kari and ending in a subtle moving reconciliation after the defeat of the latter in a contest of strength in which it participates.

Between rehearsals and performances, we follow each of them with the issues they care about and that generate interest. Sami is a militant political party, Kari is committed to a woman and talk about starting a family, Toni visits a center for independent assisted flats when their parents are missing and Pertti is the oldest member of the band and the most active musically, something like the leader that we compose and write in a room full of discs and even meditate on the music ("I hate punk music," exclaims in a moment).
The highlight of the film is the very reflection that make the four on their situation. Conscious of their disease, they use music to demand respect and reflected in the lyrics rage and dissatisfaction with their closest headaches as assisted floors or health centers. Although also sing to what makes them feel good, whether it's a cup of coffee or a birthday party.
They are accompanied at all times some family and a manager who does not collect any statement, but suffice ubiquitous presence in all situations to derive the constant support means to them.
Music is his work and repeatedly manifested. An absolute dedication to a world that they have no large, which have been molded (his clothes, his attitude, the way of thinking) and receive them with a mixture of curiosity and admiration (see people in the audience that his songs korea like they sing to Black Flag). Attitude and sincerity, two of the pillars that have defined the history of punk over the years and something that Toni, Sami, Kari and Pertti sobrados van.

Refused The nostalgic tour comes to the end

This past year, all eyes were on Refused. Su (unexpected) sat around the ring like a relaxing balm for all those followers of punk and hardcore living with the sadness of not being able to attend one of his concerts. United States, Scandinavia, United Kingdom ... even Spain (both toured venues such as Primavera Sound in Barcelona) have been the places that has devastated their visceral and direct the formation of Dennis Lixzén mature. The Swedes, full of life and everything that happened in this 2012, have decided to step into the arena to announce via Facebook to this nostalgic journey.

Very classy in his way of writing, Refused have decided to announce his return to the idle with a lovely letter in which they explain, in chronological order, all the sensations experienced throughout his career. The last two paragraphs are intended to present time from the creators of "The Shape Of Punk To Come". "Now everything comes to an end" - commented on the statement. "This has been like us. And that old punk rock golem - "The Shape Of Punk To Come" - has done well. The hatchet is buried, 1998 and not for us a terrible memory. We're going back home, and do it with style. "

Despite voracious reviews designed for a fraction of its former fanbase, Refused have managed to keep their heads held high in the past year. We always left with the indelible image of thunder, and unforgettable live who performed at Primavera Sound 2012. The sound was at the height of the circumstances and the stage of fire Umeå with lashes as 'New Noise', that timeless anthem that still today continues to sound so colossal. The sorely missed once again.

'My Blood' and Ellie Goulding triumphal sap

Since 2009, Ellie Goulding's rise to fame has been meteoric media. With only an EP and a debut album - "Lights", 2010 - under his arm, the young British woman has managed to capture prestigious awards, and also with an extensive fanbase that adores from any hidden corner of the country. Just need to see their Facebook fans to know what we're talking about.More than 1,700,000 followers are having the girl Hereford in social network account!. And those who still come after the release of a second album - "Halcyon" which undoubtedly will be most heard in this last stretch of 2012.

I have spent these last days listening to this new album, and there have been some issues that have caught my attention. One is 'My Blood', the second part of the work that gets baste in the same song pop frenzy that characterizes mystical Ellie with a hint more like Florence + The Machine that of other artists of the genre. In its way this song is a real whiplash so we sincerely hope that Ellie deemed as their next single. There are many untapped powder in this easy, and surely that many will surrender to the artist after listening.

So that you can enjoy the theme here we leave you with the studio version and also with the interpretation that Ellie Goulding performed 'My Blood' at the iTunes Festival 2012. Much in one as in another format this song sounds fabulous.

Listen to the new album Gallows with Wade McNeil

There was much uncertainty and many questions about the future of Gallows. And for good reason: without the charismatic Frank Carter on board the ship, all seemed to sense it was going to be less. Luckily the Watford were ready and got to sign Wade McNeil, consolidated Alexisonfire singer who has helped an LP Gallows premiere the powerful sea. It's called "Gallows" (originality alive!) Has been produced, mixed and mastered by Thomas Mitchener and Steve Sears (Spycatcher) and can be heard in streaming from now through the web of NME.

The compact drops like a real scourge hardcoreta that will delight fans of more aggressive rock and wild. Especially addictive we thought the theme that closes the compact ('Cross of Lorraine'), Wade piece that tears with his voice almost every second that compose it. Speaking about the album, the band has been clear: "did the LP so that would define the Gallows today. It is the first of many releases that come from the hand of Venn Records, our label. This is how to laugh in the face of those who were actually just finished when we were warming up. "

And why do not lack for the latter claim. Carter may no longer be with them but Gallows is life so long as it is shown in the vibrant 'Outside Art'.

The Vaccines, more refreshing than ever in 'Aftershave Ocean'

If ye could already read our review on "Come of Age" will know that the latest album from The Vaccines we love it. The British have managed to create a sonic aura that envelops the entire disk, always retaining that refreshing hoot how well defined to Londoners. The LP has many themes that we like but there is one in particular that amuses us specially. It is entitled 'Aftershave Ocean' and shows you the best, and most delicate guitar riffs from the creators of "What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?".

Tomorrow I will post an interview I did in these last days to Pete Robertson of The Vaccines. Among some points to discuss, the battery dropped some details concerning this great subject. "'Ocean Aftershave' was born from a silhouette guitarrera who composed Freddie, and that came from an idea of Justin raised letter on a 'sea of aftershave' and the concept of 'get from the air'. The content is about seeing the world as it is and not mask the bad things with a surface layer of positivity. "

The (well-deserved) break and the next album by Florence + The Machine

We knew this moment was coming, Florence Welch, soul (and thinking mind) of Florence + The Machine has confirmed it will take a break for about 12 months before immersing yourself in the process of creating his third studio album. Talking to Spinner the singer has made clear one thing: the next job has begun to take shape in his head. "I've been thinking a lot about it. In fact I've made a whole album in my head. "

Leaving aside the phenomenon Adele, Florence + The Machine has been the British music boom of the past two years. "Lungs" marked the birth of the creative potential of Florence Welch and "Ceremonials" reaffirmed and consolidated the status of a young artist who has reached the ears of the world thanks to the size singles' What The Water Gave Me ',' Shake It Out 'or' Breath Of Fire '. Talking to the web on their two babies Anglo, Florence has been very emphatic when compared. "I think the first album showed the desperation felt by doing something, grabbing things. 'Ceremonials' is centered on the idea of collecting aspects of my interior, treating an internal search and not by someone who was not me. It was an internal battle that the attack on another person outside. "

We'll be a long time without hearing anything new from Florence + The Machine (or enjoy any of his concerts) but I saw it coming that the physical and mental forces of Florence Welch were depleted. This year "sabbatical" pearl will do the British to return to delight us again with some great piece like 'Never Let Me Go', probably the best song of the second album - "Ceremonials" - that has elevated the charismatic redhead London.

The biggest rock show of the day: Tenacious D live at Zenith

At home in the U.S., the comedy rock band Tenacious D is treated like superstars. There have even Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Their own television shows and play permanently with the most prominent guest musicians, has to offer the rock business In Europe, Europe, however - with the exception of England - they were up to the release of their latest album "Rize Of The Fenix" even more of an insider, the most aficionados are primarily hear about movies or video games like Brutal Legend. But the current album has made it to the respectable fifth place in the German album charts and their popularity in this country to push even further, Tenacious D come on tour to Germany in October - including to Munich, where she was on 11/10/2012 Zenith will play.

Already this summer, Tenacious D have sniffed at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park German stage air. They seem to have gotten a taste, and now hope that their sense of humor despite the regional, linguistic, cultural and historical peculiarities also popular in Germany finds. It is their first tour of Germany and thus a daring experiment. We'll see if the world has enough humor to understand Tenacious D and appreciate. If that should be so, their mission is really nothing in the way, the biggest rock stars on the planet to be.

Sant Feliu Fest 2012 (Sant Feliu, August 18, 2012)

I will borrow an appreciation of our dear Wences New Vulcan to uncover what will be my humble chronicle of Sant Feliu Fest expected after two years of hiatus: "The Sant Feliu Fest is one of the few festivals where bands are more below than above the stage. " And why has our beloved bassist, because on Saturday August 18 in Port Espai enclosure we saw seven bands and greet as many, many more. That more than a scene, it's a great family, a role model. Congratulations again ganxons and friends TZVR members!
The festival actually began on Thursday 16 in the room with the bands Yankees TZVR Chalk Talk and Everyone Everywhere. The following day, Friday, the organization had prepared a curious performance: a wall painting by artist Ed Trask with inspiring background sound of the orchestra of the winning horse. All audiovisual experience, live pure creativity. We were unable to attend, but thanks to the lovely Carolina goal Click,-that has given us all the pictures that accompany this text, we can get an idea.
On Saturday, at 6 pm but still with a blazing sun, jumped the youngest, Please Wait. Young, very young, especially the battery, which could have as much ... 12 years? To find the influences of this promising trio, and this excites me especially, we must go back a few decades ago. They are sucking punk rock, but I bet you do not averse to emocore or post-hardcore. To understand my point just listen to your presentation topic, 'I want you inside of me', which burst with a string of the guitar and had to start over, by the way. With the look timid, and in all humility, but lashing out with their instruments and desgallitándose force, Sant Feliu trio got the audience in his pocket.
Then rose the French Daria, unknown in these parts but very professional, which made it very clear from the first topic that attacked. Formed in 2000, the Angers practice a melodic rock in the style of Foo fighers, Weezer and Jimmy Eat World, but with a touch more metallic. Impeccable together, however highlighted the singer and guitar thrust Camille, real engine of this combo of the neighboring country. They had played before in the peninsula, specifically at the Hard Rock in Barcelona, years ago, as recalled between songs, but I fear that this bolus in Sant Feliu was far more rewarding. At the end of the bolus, sold and signed many vinyls. Good sign.
Goes without saying that The Red Room was arguably the less I wanted to hear. Something does not fit me, I come, perhaps for the indie pop genre with messages say sometimes extremely sugary. They had several excuses to play at a festival like Sant Feliu Fest: many years in the gap outside the fashions and above all, had recorded with Santi Garcia, also at the controls with his brother Victor of the festival soundboard . Jokes aside, that would deceive you play bad and nothing is further from my intention. Sounded better than good, truth, and compact, rather than solvents, and at some point even came close to earning a staging rather more rock than it could wait. Anyway, do not quote me, is my business, because in the faces of the public could see the buenrollismo and happiness, and that in these times is priceless and is admirable. No objection.
From here, noventero revivalism and seized entirely underground festival. Starting a band whose name freaks me: Office of Future Plans. It's so mysterious, so dark and at the same time, so smart. Behind the project, J. Robbins (Jawbox) and friends. One of the highlights of the day, no doubt. The concert was less to more, from electrical nerve passages tremendistas minded pop, especially from the time when Gordon Withers parked his bizarre cello unceremoniously scratch your guitar. Great find these in the office of the future plans. As Kepone, the next to jump on stage and literally washed away everything, as usual, making all that beautiful wall of sound that threw us track after track look easy. Many of those present expected to Virginia with win, looking forward. Above all, the members of the organization, which stuck ourselves to bring up their land, and seized more so programming a bolus visit the next day in the room with Moksha TZVR and Beach Beach that I have, was even more overwhelming. Surprising to the uninitiated, orgasmic for his followers ever.
The sound of the West Coast came with Seaweed, distant cousins and contemporaries Samiam and All. His melodic punk rock with an emotional point fit great on the poster, and while rubbing the quarantine (if not exceed) showed to be very fit. All face to Randy, a guaranteed party. Too bad this time these Swedish punk rockers the party will stick before jumping on stage and touched lightly injured, leaving a half-issue because the bassist had forgotten how to play and stoppages between songs entirely expendable. But with such great songs in your pocket, not even that could fail. People danced, chanted, jumped, enjoyed, as always, as ever. This was the dream finale, a near-perfect closing to finish some burning shoe ended up in the nearby room so Pandora. Now, counting the days for next summer and next Sant Feliu Fest.

George Ringsgwandl ...

If the Ringsgwandl comes, the hall is full. It was also recently in the non Lustspielhaus different. Right at the doors open, there were numerous fans and one hour before the concert begins, the house was already crowded then. Drums, bass and electric guitar were prepared and then the master came in person. With hat and shirt, guitar and curtsy.
Georg Ringsgwandl (c)Gardill-Vaassen

A more peaceful, quieter evening, there should be announced, in fact, the memories of his homeland Stauffenbrücke Berchtesgaden (Staffabruck). Ten years ago he was already using this program with Nick Woodland on stage. At that time, convinced the unusual instrumentation of the thrifty pieces and the finely observed stories. So very close in this thematic and musical context, it was in the comedy house but not this time. His Staffabruck universe he has hastily expanded to several other songs and put forward with much enthusiasm and pace, aided by his excellent combo. Thanked the audience with plenty of applause and at the latest when he exchanged his hat for a woolen hat, had put on his sunglasses and then brought with zither accompaniment "his" Stubenmusi, stormed the hall. So completely, he can let the clown but probably not - but who ko, ko!

After two hours of programming, three encores and numerous Hofknicksen he dismissed his audience in the evening and mingled itself with the amount of sweating in a comedy house. An original, an artist, "just by Oana Echt'n".

Ringsgwandl_PGV-0072

P.S. Schorsch, Staffabruck was great, but now it's time for new!

We also talked about his song "Cadence AO," a song that intrigued us of his latest Vitamins & Minerals.Ralfy bassist learned that Valencia was a teacher of high school drumline!

They also recommended other Miami bands like Madness and Suénalo Juana, and left us with an idea that I liked personally, "Latin by association". :)
